  Job Summary

  • The Label Store is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized Procurement Officer to join our growing retail operations team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing goods and services, negotiating with vendors, processing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring the timely availability of products across our supermarket branches.
  • This role requires strong analytical skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to build productive supplier relationships while maintaining cost efficiency, quality standards, and compliance with company procurement policies.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
  • Obtain and compare quotations from multiple vendors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service agreements with suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with inventory, warehouse, and branch teams to prevent stock shortages and overstocking.
  • Track orders from placement through delivery and resolve any supply or logistics issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, contracts, and pricing schedules.
  • Conduct periodic supplier performance evaluations and recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounts teams to reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and supplier payments.
  • Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, and purchasing forecasts for management review.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function.

  Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in a retail supermarket, FMCG, wholesale, or distribution environment.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and inventory coordination.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
