  Overall Purpose of Job

  • Providing procurement advisory support with little or no supervision in the Upstream Sector of the Nigeria Oil & Gas Industry

  Responsibilities

  • Executing the following with little or no supervision and having the ability to bring a new entrant up to speed;
  • Processing and managing Request for Quotations (RFQs) and electronic Request for X (RFX) processing and management.
  • Managing suppliers of materials.
  • Processing Requests for Quotation (RFQs) received on assigned accounts.
  • Obtaining quotes from suppliers.
  • Validating purchase order documents.
  • Follow up on all submitted RFQs.
  • Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders on all RFQs and purchase orders (POs).
  • Ensure effective documentation of documents relating to each transaction.
  • Maintain comprehensive filing system; soft and hard copies.
  • Maintain high degree of confidentiality of company documents.
  • Provide follow-up to customers on outstanding receivables.
  • Assist to ensure effective management of logistics on all orders.
  • Ensure reports on accounts are produced and disseminated as and when due.
  • Error-free computation of cost (Ex-works and Delivered Duty Paid, DDP) of goods on MS Excel.

  • Effective back-up for Glass-fibre Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) Sourcing and Processing

  • Reduction in Ineffective RFQs across accounts
  • Improve Delivery Performance to 60%
  • Timeliness and Accuracy of PO spreadsheet

  Person Specifications / Competencies

  • Minimum qualification – BSc / HND
  • At least five years cognate experience.
  • Very good grasp of Supply Chain Process in Upstream Oil and Gas
  • Strong sourcing, negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience handling RFQs, RFXs and POs for major IOCs such as Total Energies, Esso and Chevron.
  • Strong understanding of upstream Oil & Gas procurement and supply chain processes, cycles and documentation.
  • Ability to interpret technical descriptions and specifications for pipes, valves, fittings, chemicals, tools and other Oil & Gas materials.
  • Strong international sourcing experience, including the use of online bidding and sourcing platforms.
  • Good supplier management and order-expediting skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills when dealing with OEMs, manufacturers and vendors.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to evaluate quotations and negotiate competitive terms.
  • Strong administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple RFQs, POs and priorities simultaneously.
  • Organized, reliable and able to deliver assigned tasks within agreed timelines with minimal supervision.
  • Good knowledge of logistics management
  • Supply Chain SAP Module knowledge is an added advantage.
