Where an incident is critical, report directly to the Security Director.</li> <li>As guided by the Security Manager, perform delegated duties during critical incident management.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education and Work Experience Requirement</strong></p> <ul> <li>BSc Degree or its equivalent in Social Sciences discipline</li> <li>Minimum of 2 years experience working in similar capacity for an NGO</li> <li>Strong oral and written communications skills in English.</li> </ul> <p>Skills and Competencies Requirement:</p> <ul> <li>Preferably a former security forces military or paramilitary but not most</li> <li>Candidate must be willing to reside in Jigawa upon resumption if successful</li> <li>Good organizational skills, effective time management, ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize tasks</li> <li>Sound cultural awareness and ability to work in a multicultural and multiethnic environment</li> <li>Ability to deliver high quality work in short periods of time and to work under pressure</li> <li>Adaptability to changing nature of humanitarian work and operational difficulties</li> <li>Willingness to frequent field missions for assessments even on short notices</li> <li>Careful attention to details</li> <li>Critical thinker and possess problem solving attitude</li> <li>Skilled in conducting security assessments and context analysis</li> <li>Passion to help others and reduce infant mortality</li> <li>Very good communication and writing skills, English, Hausa and dialects verbal and written</li> <li>Excellent responsiveness to email and phone requests</li> <li>Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, internet browsers, smartphones and ICT in general. New Incentives is a US-based nonprofit committed to implementing health-related cash transfer programs to save lives in developing countries. Operating in Nigeria, New Incentives gives pregnant women with at-risk pregnancies conditional cash transfers, which encourage them to follow medical advice and treatment so that their children are born healthy.

Position Overview
- The Safety & Security Officer (S&SO) will support the organization by monitoring and managing safety and security risks across all operational locations.
- Key responsibilities include conducting security assessments, ensuring compliance with security procedures, reporting incidents, and engaging with relevant stakeholders to obtain timely security updates for safe program implementation.
- The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in a similar NGO or humanitarian security role, strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to respond proactively to evolving security situations. Candidates should be highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and willing to conduct frequent field visits, including on short notice.

Key Responsibilities
