    Mechanical/Piping Foreman

    We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/Piping Foreman to supervise and coordinate mechanical and piping construction, installation, maintenance, and modification activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, quality standards, and approved project schedules.

    The ideal candidate will provide direct leadership to field crews, ensuring effective execution of construction and maintenance activities while maintaining productivity, quality workmanship, and adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    Construction Supervision

    • Supervise daily mechanical and piping installation, fabrication, erection, maintenance, and modification activities.
    • Lead crews involved in piping systems, pressure equipment, static equipment, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, tanks, and associated mechanical systems.
    • Assign manpower, equipment, and materials to achieve daily work targets.
    • Ensure work is executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, specifications, method statements, and construction procedures.
    • Monitor work progress and resolve field execution issues promptly.

    Mechanical & Piping Installation

    • Supervise pipe fabrication, fit-up, alignment, welding, bolting, hydrotesting, reinstatement, and mechanical equipment installation.
    • Ensure correct installation of pumps, compressors, vessels, piping supports, valves, flanges, strainers, and other mechanical equipment.
    • Verify alignment, leveling, bolt torque, gasket installation, and equipment positioning.
    • Coordinate lifting and rigging activities for heavy mechanical equipment.
    • Ensure preservation of installed equipment during construction.

    Work Planning & Coordination

    • Review work packs, isometric drawings, P&IDs, material take-offs (MTOs), lifting plans, and construction schedules before execution.
    • Coordinate activities with Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Scaffolding, Rigging, QA/QC, and HSE teams.
    • Verify availability of materials, consumables, tools, lifting equipment, and permits before commencing work.
    • Identify construction constraints and recommend mitigation measures to maintain project schedules.

    Quality Assurance & Control

    • Ensure mechanical and piping works comply with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), project specifications, and applicable codes.
    • Coordinate inspections with QA/QC personnel and client representatives.
    • Verify completion of weld inspections, dimensional checks, flange inspections, hydrotests, pneumatic tests, bolt torque verification, and reinstatement activities.
    • Ensure punch-list items and non-conformances are resolved promptly.
    • Maintain quality documentation and inspection records.

    Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

    • Conduct daily toolbox talks and pre-job safety briefings.
    • Ensure compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, lifting operations, and working-at-height requirements.
    • Monitor housekeeping and proper use of PPE.
    • Stop unsafe work and report hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately.
    • Promote compliance with company HSE policies and client safety requirements.

    Team Leadership

    • Supervise pipe fitters, mechanical fitters, welders, riggers, technicians, helpers, and subcontractors.
    • Allocate daily work assignments and monitor productivity.
    • Coach and mentor junior personnel to improve technical skills and workmanship.
    • Foster teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement.

    Reporting & Documentation

    • Prepare daily progress reports, manpower utilization reports, and work completion records.
    • Monitor material usage, equipment utilization, and productivity.
    • Report delays, technical issues, quality concerns, and resource requirements to the Mechanical/Piping Supervisor.
    • Support mechanical completion, system handover, and commissioning documentation.

    Qualifications

    • OND, Trade Test, City & Guilds, or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Pipefitting, Welding, or a related discipline.
    • Formal supervisory training is an advantage.
    • Relevant trade certifications in pipefitting, mechanical fitting, or welding are desirable.

    Experience

    • Minimum 7 years of mechanical and piping construction or maintenance experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, power, marine, or heavy industrial projects.
    • Minimum 3 years in a Foreman or supervisory role.
    • Experience with EPC/EPCM projects, brownfield modifications, shutdowns/turnarounds, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
    • Offshore experience is an added advantage.
